Your Ads Strategy — Here's Exactly What We're Doing & Why
Hi Nori,
I wanted to walk you through the advertising plan we've put together for The Houston Cleaning Pro so you know exactly what's happening, when, and why. I've written this so that if anyone asks you "what's your marketing guy doing?", you can explain it clearly.
The Big Picture
Your budget is $300-$500/month. That's tight for paid advertising — most agencies recommend $1,500+ — so we can't afford to spread thin across multiple platforms. Instead, we're going all-in on one thing that works best for cleaning companies at this budget: Google Local Services Ads (LSA).
Think of it this way:
  • Regular Google Ads = you pay every time someone clicks your ad (whether they call you or not)
  • Facebook/Instagram Ads = you pay to show your ad to people scrolling (most aren't looking for cleaning)
  • Google LSA = you only pay when someone actually contacts you — a real lead, not just a click
At $400/month, LSA should bring in 5-16 real leads per month — people who are actively searching for a cleaning service in Houston and reach out to you directly.
What Exactly Are We Setting Up?
01
Your Google Business Profile (Free — Week 1)
Before we turn on any ads, we need your Google Business Profile looking great. This is your business listing that shows up on Google Maps and in search results.
02
Google Local Services Ads (Week 2-3)
This is where your ad budget goes. Your business appears at the very top of Google with a "Google Guaranteed" badge.
Step 1: Your Google Business Profile (Free — Week 1)
Before we turn on any ads, we need your Google Business Profile looking great. This is your business listing that shows up on Google Maps and in search results. We're going to:
  • Make sure all your info is correct (name, address, phone, hours)
  • Add all your services with descriptions and price ranges
  • Upload 10+ photos (before/after cleaning shots, your team, your equipment)
  • Write a strong business description with the right keywords
  • Start collecting Google reviews from your past customers

Why this matters: This profile directly controls how your ads rank. Better profile = more leads for the same money.
Step 2: Google Local Services Ads (Week 2-3)
This is where your ad budget goes. Here's what it looks like for customers:
  • When someone in Houston searches "cleaning service near me" or "house cleaning Houston," your business appears at the very top of Google — above all other ads
  • You get a "Google Guaranteed" badge", which tells customers Google has verified your business (background check, insurance, license)
  • Customers can call you or message you directly from the ad
  • You only pay when they actually contact you — typically $25-$75 per lead
We're setting it up to cover:
  • House Cleaning
  • Deep Cleaning
  • Move-In / Move-Out Cleaning
  • Office Cleaning
  • Commercial Cleaning
  • Post-Construction Cleaning
Service area: 15-20 mile radius from your location — covering Inner Loop, Memorial, Katy, Sugar Land, The Woodlands, and Clear Lake. We don't want to go wider than you can profitably service.
Budget: $75-$125 per week, which paces out to your $300-$500/month.
What Should You Expect?
The Numbers
Based on Houston market data for cleaning companies:

But here's where it gets good: If even 1-2 of those customers become recurring (biweekly cleaning), that's $300-$600/month in repeat revenue that keeps growing. By month 6, your recurring revenue alone could be $1,800+/month from ads that only cost $400.
Month-by-Month
1
Month 1
Get everything set up, LSA goes live, first leads come in
2
Month 2-3
Optimize based on results, push hard for Google reviews (goal: 20+), dispute any bad leads for refunds
3
Month 4-6
If results are strong, we add regular Google Search Ads to capture even more leads (~$850/month total)
4
Month 7-12
Add Facebook/Instagram retargeting to follow up with people who visited your website (~$2,000/month total)
We only increase spend when the numbers prove it makes sense. No guessing, no gambling with your money.
What You Need To Do
This plan only works if you do your part. The three most critical things:
1. Answer Leads FAST (Within 5 Minutes)
Google tracks how quickly you respond. Faster response = higher ranking = more leads for the same money. If you miss calls, you're paying for leads and then losing them.
2. Collect Google Reviews
Reviews are the #1 factor in LSA ranking. After every job, text or ask your customer for a Google review. Goal: 5+ new reviews per month. We'll give you templates to make this easy.
3. Track Your Results
We'll set up a simple spreadsheet for you. Every lead that comes in, write down: their name, what service they want, whether you booked them, and how much the job was worth. This is how we know what's working.
How We'll Keep You in the Loop
Every month you'll get a simple report showing:
How much was spent
How many leads came in
How many turned into booked jobs
How much revenue those jobs generated
What we're adjusting for next month
No jargon, no confusion — just plain numbers so you can see your return on investment.
What This Costs You
That's it for Phase 1. No hidden fees, no platform costs, no expensive software.
The Growth Plan (When You're Ready)
We're not going to ask you to spend more until the numbers justify it. Here's the path:
1
NOW ($400/mo)
Google LSA only → 5-16 leads/month
2
WHEN READY ($850/mo)
Add Google Search Ads → 11-23 leads/month
3
LATER ($2,000/mo)
Add Facebook/Instagram → 25-35+ leads/month
Each phase only kicks in when the previous one is consistently profitable.
If Someone Asks You "What's Your Ad Strategy?"
"We're running Google Local Services Ads, which puts our business at the very top of Google when people in Houston search for cleaning services. We only pay when someone actually contacts us — not just clicks. Google verifies our business with a background check and gives us a 'Google Guaranteed' badge, so customers trust us. We're starting focused and growing based on what the numbers show."
Questions?
I'm happy to walk through any of this on a call. The strategy is simple by design — at this budget, focus beats complexity every time.
Let's get this rolling.
Best,
Damien

P.S. — The single most impactful thing you can do right now is start collecting Google reviews from your happiest customers. Even before ads go live, more reviews = better results from day one.
